Yes, thanks a million Mouthy. And I've wasted no time in finding somewhere to wear it to!
I'll be wearing some of the items tonight as my husband and I are going to the party his employers are organizing. Should be fun!

i did some painstaking research and discovered that the christmas spirit is still being practiced at the highest levels in the organization:.

That was great! Well done.
the january km is completely different.
the style has been totally revamped

Remember there was that bold statement someone highlighted from the January WT that looking after fellow brothers and sisters is just as important as the ministry. That might not be an entirely new thought but then it is not something they point out every day either. So that might also be an indication they are moving away from focus on the field ministry.
But doesn't that make a complete nonsense of the drama in the summer conventions about Scoliosis being wrong for doing good works on not focusing on the preaching? Sometimes it really feels like the right hand don't know what the left hand is doing at the headquarters!
so i drove by my old kingdom hall the other day and noticed that it had a for sale sign in front of it.
this came as no surprise to me, as i knew that they recently won approval to build a new kingdom hall in a neighboring town.
(caused a bit of a stir in town - but that's a different story).
I think you're on to something loosie. Perhaps they just spun the colour wheel and used whatever colour it landed on!

Nice comments Billy. Certainly made me laugh.
I almost hope my JW mother brings up the subject of this WT when I see her tomorrow. I'd really love to convey some of those gems to her.

Yuck! What's up with all the clashing colours! I've been to many meetings with a hangover but if I had to go to that KH I really think I'd be quite ill!
My old hall was pink. Then I moved to a neighboring cong whose hall was also pink. Definately some closet homos in these parts!
"jehovah's witnesses have the lowest retention rate of any religious tradition.
only 37% of all those who say they were raised as jehovah's witnesses still identify themselves as jehovah's witnesses.".

Certainly brighter than the leaders who quote the pew research in the Feb awake! (Though obviously not the bit you mention!)

7. How wrong it is, then, to think of Jehovah as a celestial policeman who peers down from above in order to catch us in the act of sinning! Satan is the one with a cynical, accusing eye. (Rev. 12:10) He even attributes bad motives where there are none!
This bit really got me annoyed. It's not Satan that's guilty of attributing wrong motives - its JWs at every level! They even do it several times in this same study!
As a result, God expressed his approval of Abel's offering, rendered in faith, but his disapproval of Cain's, which in some way reflected a lack of faith.
Oh, and they know that coz they were able to communicate with Cain somehow rather than thinking something bad about him that there's no basis for?!
Achan took spoil from the city of Jericho and hid it in his tent, likely with the complicity of his family.
No doubt, this couple wanted to gain special honor within the congregation. But their act was deceitful.
You know when WTS start using words like "doubtless", "likely" and "no doubt", that they are just hoping the gullible zombies that listen to this muck don't bothers their asses looking up the cited scriptures! Otherwise they would see how baseless these presumptions are!
When I brought the UN issue up with an elder, he came back with a lot of junk from the Jehovah's Judgement website. We were even going back and forth for a while because he didn't believe that they ever signed up to it. When info from the JJ website clashed with what was written on the UN's website, he said "Who should we believe? Whose motives are pure?" Well talk about a red rag to a bull esp when this was from the same elder whose catchphrase was about "not imputing wrong motives"!!! I shot back with "Well I feel that those who work for the UN are good people who want to uphold human rights and I don't think its my place to judge their motives. And we already know that the WTS can't be fully trusted because of their misuse of quotes." That shut him up pretty quickly. But it did show me how they use those buzz words to protect themselves from being scrutinized by others and yet don't show anyone else the same respect.
By their fruits you'll know them and by the love they have among themselves....
it'd be interesting to see what's happened to friends, associates and kingdom hall buddies since leaving the organisation.. .
a friend - someone you have a personal friendship with.
an associate - someone you hang out with in groups but have no personal relationship with.
All still in.
I'm working on them though...
i have been lurking on this site for nearly a year now and finally feel comfortable enough to begin posting.
so i thought a little introduction would be appropriate.
my whole family, except for my two sisters, are jw's.
Welcome to the board.
Thanks for taking the time to share your story. Very interesting to read. And what an uncaring bunch of elders they were! Mind you, if they'd been nice to you, maybe you would still be there!
